## What the pass rate does and doesn't tell you

- It is an average across everyone who tested in that period. It is not your personal chance of passing.
- A lower pass rate than ASP or CSP does not prove the CHST is "harder". The candidate groups have different backgrounds and eligibility rules.
- BCSP publishes the pass rate in its annual report. Check the next report for updated numbers.

## Exam facts that affect your preparation

- **Length:** 4 hours ([BCSP Credentials At-A-Glance](https://www.bcsp.org/credentials-at-a-glance)).
- **Format:** computer-based, at Pearson VUE test centers. Results are available as soon as you submit the exam ([BCSP CHST page](https://www.bcsp.org/construction-health-and-safety-technician-chst)).
- **Retakes:** you can schedule another attempt as long as it is at least six weeks after your last attempt ([BCSP CHST page](https://www.bcsp.org/construction-health-and-safety-technician-chst)).
- **Content:** four blueprint domains, weighted from 19.9% to 36.6%. See [the CHST blueprint explained](https://truelineprep.com/chst/blueprint/).

## How to use this number

1. Find your weakest domain early. Hazard and Risk Identification and Control alone is 36.6% of the blueprint.
2. Study in proportion to the weights, then spend your final week on timed practice.
3. Re-check yourself by domain, not just by overall score.
